Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and client focused Occupational Therapist - Senior for a Rehabilitation - Accelerated Recovery role.

The Opportunity
This role is the perfect opportunity for a motivated rehabilitation clinician looking for a new challenge or progression in their career. The opportunity is based in the newly established Accelerated Recovery Team, a multidisciplinary team responsible for commencing early rehabilitation within the acute wards of the Townsville University Hospital.

As an invaluable part of the Occupational Therapy department and Rehabilitation Team, you will be responsible for the provision of high-level clinical services for patients requiring rehabilitation. You will act as a leader and mentor within Queensland Health, and as a resource person in the area of rehabilitation. This will include assisting in workforce capacity development in accordance with organisational goals and current projects. as well as initiating and leading service improvement, research, and quality activities.

You will collaborate with other Occupational Therapists across the HHS to provide high level clinical leadership in rehabilitation for therapists, clinical assistants, students, and cadets, incorporating the provision of clinical supervision and education.

Generous remuneration package value up to $152,775 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $4769.60 - $5132.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • 17.5% annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Clinical Expertise:
    • Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in Occupational Therapy services within the area of rehabilitation including inpatient, outpatient and accelerated recovery.
  • Clinical Ability:
    • Demonstrated ability to provide Occupational Therapy clinical services of a complex nature, where established principles, procedures and methods require some expansion, adaptation, or modification.
  • Communication
    • Demonstrated ability to provide general clinical advice and education sessions to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
  • Leadership / Work Unit Management:
    • Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement, quality, and research initiative.
    • Provide clinical supervision, performance appraisal and education to subordinate personnel.
