What's on offer?
Permanent Full-time and/or Part-time, hours negotiable (2 x PFT FTE available).

Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $522,648 p.a. comprising salary range of $204,206 - $258,910 p.a. (full-time) or $97.84 - $124.05 p.h. (part-time) (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). Level of appointment is dependent upon experience and advanced qualifications.

  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
  • Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
  • Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave

Other employment benefits may include salary sacrificing options, on-call and shift allowances and access to corporate discounts. Assistance with relocation expenses may also be available.

Eligible health workers who make the move (interstate or international) to work with us may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (conditions apply).

About the role
The successful candidate/s will provide comprehensive ophthalmology services across a wide range of pathologies and patient age within the Department of Ophthalmology. Working within the team charter of Ophthalmology to build a collegiate team and happy workplace.

The incumbent provides support to the Director Ophthalmology in leading and participating in service development activities in respect of the Ophthalmology Department within their realm of responsibility.

Role requirements
Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists or equivalent or evidence of working towards this. Candidates who will be obtaining fellowship in the near future are encouraged to apply. Appointment will be at a lower classification level until minimum requirements for the Staff Specialist classification are obtained.
