How will I help?

We're on the lookout for a Manager - Business Controls and Monitoring to join our Technology Division. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in advancing our risk management framework initiatives while upholding the values that define Westpac. Your responsibilities will include supporting Technology Leaders, overseeing control monitoring, and ensuring operational efficiency. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with a team dedicated to achieving results and fostering a culture of trust and respect.

As part of our Business Controls and Monitoring team, you'll contribute to the bank's safety by promoting a risk-aware culture and facilitating informed decision-making. Your role will involve evaluating, directing, and monitoring risk activities within the Technology Division, aligning them with the risk appetite established for the Westpac Group. Your insights and governance will provide valuable support to the leadership team.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve various aspects of risk management, including supporting the Risk Management Framework governance activities, generating and presenting insights, and assisting with compliance monitoring. You'll collaborate with business owners to ensure consistency in risk management practices and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

What do I need?

To excel in this role, you'll need 5-7 years of experience in risk governance, ideally within Banking or Financial Services. Your expertise in Governance and Reporting, Analysis and Insights, and Risk and Compliance frameworks will be invaluable. Initiative, adaptability, and excellent communication and presentation skills are a must, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
