Appointment Pool


Greenwood College is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated, enthusiastic and collaborative Teachers – Mathematics for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.


Suitable applicants will ideally be dynamic and dedicated Mathematics specialists with commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The role requires extensive knowledge of the Western Australian (WA) Mathematics Curriculum. Applicants will preferably have experience teaching Year 11/12 ATAR Mathematics Methods and Applications courses and be able to plan for and instruct students in academic extension programs as well as students at academic risk.


Suitable applicants will ideally possess the professional knowledge, practices, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, embedding ICT practices into programming and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age groups.


Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are also desirable skills. Suitable applicants should be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach. You will ideally be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and desirably have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

ELIGIBILITY


Employees will be required to :



  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
