Executive Manager Business Oversight QDAT
Your Business
Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) purpose is to combine global connectivity and capability to build a better Australia. IB&M are responsible for managing the Group's relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services.
This role sits within Non-Financial Risk and Conduct and is focused on managing Line 1 Risk and Compliance activities for the Quants, Data, Analytics and Technology (QDAT) line of business within IB&M.
Do work that matters
Reporting into the Managing Director Non-Financial Risk and Conduct, and with a dotted line into the General Manager Specialised Risk and Optimisation, the Executive Manager Business Oversight will support the QDAT business and provide the visibility and tools to effectively manage and optimise their risk and control frameworks.
Specific areas of responsibility will include but not be limited to:
- Leading a Line 1 team to ensure effective oversight, governance and management of Non-Financial Risk and controls across the QDAT business.
- Proactively detecting and anticipating responses to changes in the internal and external risk landscape that may impact the QDAT business risk profiles.
- Providing expert advice to the head of the QDAT business on managing their risk, compliance obligations and business operations within risk appetite.
- Consulting on opportunities to enhance the design and resiliency of business processes and the control environment.
- Representing the QDAT business in governing forums and committees, providing insightful business intelligence to create transparency of risk outcomes.
- Driving the use of appropriate tools, strategies, practices and frameworks to enable execution of risk reduction and proactive risk management.
- Acting as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, coaching and driving behaviours enabling self-reliant risk management and compliance obligations
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the 3 Lines of Accountability, to solve complex business and risk challenges
We're interested in hearing from people with:
- Senior Leadership experience in Operational Risk & Compliance, including the leadership of high performing teams in complex organisations.
- An ability to develop constructive working relationships with a set of large and varied stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Strong analytical, strategic and conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of commercial acumen and strong inductive reasoning capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and influence stakeholders at different level.
- Exposure to technology and cybersecurity, data analytics and/or digital capabilities within a risk setting will be well regarded.
