About the role

This role is a 6-month parental leave cover.

If you are interested in joining the team responsible for building the future of the gateway to Australia, then you may be interested in working as our Development Manager, Commercial. The Development Manager is a strategic, and collaborative leader, responsible for the full project lifecycle. You will have accountability for leading a team of stakeholders in identifying, creating, and delivering a major project/ a range of projects and reporting to senior management.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

Take project accountability for leading a team of stakeholders in identifying, creating and delivering a range of projects across the airport. This will include:

  • Preparation and ongoing management business cases and obtaining internal approvals Preparation of funding requirements to progress opportunities
  • Identification of development opportunities, risks and barriers to creation and delivery
  • Develop strategies to maximise returns and minimise risk
  • Project cost planning, supervision & management of budgets, claims & payments
  • Manage the Project Control Group process
  • Present to senior executives and manage stakeholder approval processes
  • Management of project team to ensure workstream alignment
  • Identification of problems and opportunities in order to define project requirements
  • Coordination of stakeholder outputs into a project brief and set of requirements
  • Oversee WHS management process required for the development
  • Oversee quality control and handover management

About you

The evolution of the development function at SYD is shifting towards a more front-end focus. As a seasoned professional, you'll thrive in coordinating diverse workstreams, crafting compelling papers, and expertly navigating projects through the approval process. In this capacity, the Development Manager assumes a pivotal role in sculpting the future trajectory of Sydney Airport.

To achieve success, you will likely enjoy cross team collaboration and an eye for solving complex challenges, have a relevant tertiary degree combined with a strong history of Development Management experience throughout project lifecycle and across multiple projects.
