Appointment Pool

South Newman Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2025.

About the role

As a Quality Teaching Strategy – Teaching for Impact Lead School, we are seeking teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills which underpin professional knowledge and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. Suitable applicants will become an integral part of this community partnership to support each child to reach their potential.

As a teacher at South Newman PS, you will work in a collaborative environment to improve student outcomes, reflect on your own performance, contribute to staff development and support our distributed leadership structure. ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to :

  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
