ABOUT THE BRANCH

The Grants Policy Branch is responsible for developing and implementing whole-of-government policy advice on the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs) and has policy oversight of Commonwealth grants administration arrangements. The Branch coordinates the review and release requests for Grant Opportunity Guidelines and provides timely assistance and advice to Government, entities, and other stakeholders to assist them to meet their obligations under the policies and frameworks.

We're looking for team members who want to work in a dynamic area to achieve grant policy and project policy outcomes through engaging with entities across the Commonwealth.

Assistant Director, Grants Policy and Projects

Dependent on the specified role, the Assistant Director, Grants Policy and Grants Projects may be responsible for the development and delivery of tasks associated to policy, project development and implementation strategies, governance and assurance, contract and procurement activities, and stakeholder engagements. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assessing policy requirements and ensuring policy alignment between grant reform works, second pass business case development, and the granting environment.
  • Development and proposal of project plans and strategies associated to governance, assurance, project implementation, project transition, risk, communication, ICT implementation and integration, procurement and contract management, and APS capability uplift.
  • Data analysis and reporting to identify and support entity, user and stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and propose policy and legislative changes to support grant project works and deliver strategic short and long term benefits.
  • Draft, review and coordinate key written materials relevant to policy and project delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate staff and specialist contractors to deliver project activities where required.
  • Lead and manage ongoing stakeholder engagements, including information gathering an analysis.
