Position Details
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Education Support Teacher / Students with Disabilities Coordinator to join our dedicated team.
This is a full-time temporary position commencing 15th July and concluding 31st December 2024. The successful applicant is required to facilitate the access, participation, and learning outcomes of students with special needs within the St Joseph Centre.
The role is a combination of teaching in the St Joseph Centre 4 days per week and SWD coordinator role 1 day per week.
Mary MacKillop Catholic Community Primary School is a co-educational primary school catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 with an enrolment of 470 students.
The school has a strong affiliation with the Mary Mackillop parish creating a very positive atmosphere within the community with an emphasis on pastoral care and acceptance of all cultural and social backgrounds and needs.
Selection Criteria
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced, suitably qualified, innovative and enthusiastic teachers committed to the pursuit of excellence who would like to be part of a collaborative team.
We are seeking the following attributes :
- Demonstrate an understanding of strategies consistent with sound Special Needs practice.
- Facilitate an inclusive curriculum where access, participation and learning outcomes of students with diverse educational and additional needs are provided for.
- Oversee the implementation of all programmes and Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and organise IEP meetings with staff, parents and other professionals.
- Lead the schools NCCD process : planning, implementaion, moderating and reporting.
- Able to adapt and adjust communication to reflect the needs of the student.
- Commitment to teamwork.
- Capacity to work independently, effectively and with initiative.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and others in the community.
Qualifications Required
- The successful applicant will be required to;
- Undergo Mandatory Reporting Training.
- Acquire and / or maintain relevant Accreditation requirements to work in a Catholic School.
