About the role
The purpose of the Project Manager Locomotive Overhaul's is to manage projects assigned to them by the National Program Manager through the full life cycle of the project. Projects may include new build, Re life, Overhaul and Repair projects.
This includes:
- Manage assigned projects from inception to completion within time and budget constraints, ensuring work is completed to an acceptable standard.
- Manage customer expectations regarding deliverables by preparing a project plan and by providing regular feedback through meetings, etc. to assist in ensuring that these expectation are realised.
- Manage all Project Schedules ensuring all schedules are updated
- Assure resources, timing, scope and deliverables are clearly defined and managed.
- Controls project costs and manage the project budget.
- Assist in preparing documentation to support any variations to the project.
- Assist in conducting final hand-over with the client/sponsor and operations at completion of the project, including post implementation review with lessons learnt documentation.
- Manage customer requirements and deliver an outcome that addresses these requirements
About you:
- Diploma of Project Management.
- Proficient in using Microsoft project.
- Proven advanced skills in use of computer and basic office software packages. E.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Exceptional team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and a capacity to engage stakeholders both customer and internal.
- Proven ability to manage customers expectations.
- Proven organisational skills including e-filling, function/meeting preparation and document control.
- Ability and willingness to work collaboratively across all levels of the business.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to provide high levels of customer service in an industrial environment.
- At least 3 years' experience as a Project Manager in a project environment.
- Experience in production line build of large complex machinery.
- Experience in managing and forecasting budgets.
- Proven and demonstrated experience overseeing large projects and resources or multiple teams delivering smaller projects.
