About the Opportunity

If you are passionate about primary health care and love a challenge we’d love to hear from you. Based at Acacia Prison, Wooroloo WA, you will use your clinical knowledge and skills to support new staff members, supervise nurses at level 1, Enrolled Nurses and Medication Assistants, and assist in the management of projects aligned with quality improvement and policy development. In this position you will be providing risk assessments, individual consultations and provide information and support for patients who are disadvantaged and vulnerable in a prison setting.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients
  • Manage change and be proactive in uncertain and unpredictable patient health situations and work efficiently within the constraints of correctional environments and increasing patient acuity.
  • Create and review care plans and evaluate patient’s progress toward expected outcomes
  • Knowledge of the principles of prevention and harm minimisation
  • Provide clinical supervision to Enrolled Nurses and Medication Assistants

About you - your ideal skills & experience

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain prior to starting)
  • Post Graduate qualification (desirable)
  • 4 years clinical experience in a Primary health or acute setting (desirable)
