Remuneration : $130k -$145k dependent on experience + Superannuation and Access to up to $30,000 in Salary Packaging

About the Position : Fulltime. Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

Reporting to the CEO and a member of the Executive Team, you will be leading a social focused, diverse, dynamic and high-performing team! You will work closely with community Leaders and Elders to develop and deliver social programs having direct impact and powerful generational change on the local Aboriginal community.

The successful candidate will have the responsibility of fostering and leading relationships with a number of internal, external, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Social Innovation and Program Management

  • Lead the implementation of all programs and initiatives which support the strategic objectives of the organisation;
  • Monitor, analyse and evaluate current social programs and implement appropriate changes considering external factors;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to all the social innovation teams; and
  • Be proactive in identifying and sourcing additional income streams (including external grants) to support the implementation of strategic objectives.
  • Actively participate in the strategic planning of the organisation and implement relevant strategic objectives;
  • Be able to progress strategic initiatives whilst attending to the reactive requirements of the operations;

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and communicate clear strategic vision for the Social Innovation programs teams, aligning it with NBAC’s strategic plan;
  • Foster open communication channel, actively listening to feedback from community and promoting a transparent and inclusive environment;
  • Building strong strategic relationships with the CEO, Chairperson, Board, Executive Team, Government, community members and external stakeholders;
  • Adequately resource plan for all operational needs and future projects.

Ideally, you will have worked with Indigenous communities and diverse groups before and have a thorough understanding and respect of cultural protocols.

Your role will involve :

  • Oversee daily program operations and be proactive to the organisation needs;
  • Evaluate processes, performance and productivity, recommending and implementing new initiatives for continuous improvement;
  • Identify and address challenges proactively, encouraging problem solving mindset within the teams;
  • Lead all continuous improvement and change management processes;
  • Compile relevant monthly reports and deliver at Board meetings as required;
  • Introduce, review and maintain policies, processes and systems which streamline operations and improve customer experience;
  • Create, manage and monitor operational budgets for your team;
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Qualifications in leadership / Management and / or project management
  • Proven experience in senior role minimum 5 years in a similar level role, including demonstrated experience in leadership and staff management;
  • Proven Community Services experience;
  • Demonstrable experience with leading high performing teams and providing effective and engaging leadership;
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and sensitively at all levels;
  • Proven experience to rapidly establish and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Highly organised, strong problem-solving skills and capable of working independently; and
  • Current unrestricted WA driver’s licence, pass a National Police Check and have the capacity to travel daily to Roebourne.
  • Understanding of cultural practices, values and issues that affect Aboriginal communities, and the ability to work and communicate sensitively with Aboriginal communities and organisations;
  • Prior experience working within a NFP or social enterprise organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial performance;
  • Knowledge of legislation covering human resource management issues and employee conduct standards as well as Workplace Health and Safety laws.
