About the role We are looking for a collaborative and passionate Manager Marine to lead a multidisciplinary team of professionals with safety at the forefront of everything you do.

This is a great opportunity to oversee the delivery of marine operations and maintenance for our iron ore ports in WA, requiring almost 2,700 voyages per year, driving operational and commercial efficiencies for the transportation of iron ore, salt, and fuel vessels.

Our team uses its expertise, precision scheduling systems and global communication network to orchestrate and operate a fleet of more than 230 ships that transport millions of tonnes of product across multiple continents, making Rio Tinto one of the largest dry bulk shippers in the world.

In this role you'll take ownership of all Marine aspects at our Cape Lambert and Dampier Ports, including towage operations, marine pilotage, aviation services, maintenance of all marine assets including, infrastructure, channel management and fleet strategy.

Reporting to the General Manager Ports Dampier and working in a collaborative team, you will be at the forefront of : Safety leadership and coaching, both within the marine team and other port departments Continuous improvement to drive safe and efficient scheduling processes for shipping Stakeholder management and collaboration with internal functions, and external port authorities Advancing our knowledge and application of marine risk management and incident prevention Devising effective strategies for marine infrastructure and vessel maintenance Supporting and leading contract negotiation and implementation with marine services partners What you'll bring A proven track record of success in frontline leadership roles utilising stakeholder management skills will be key to success in the role.

Where you'll be working Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process.

Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading. In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own a world-class, integrated network of 17 mines, four independent port terminals, a rail network spanning nearly 2,000 kilometres and related infrastructure all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
