Description:

As our Finance Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and support and drive the delivery of strategic projects. This role requires a high level of expertise in financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.

This is a Full-time hybrid opportunity based in our Macquarie Park Head Office, Monday to Friday 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities in this role include:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and own the delivery of monthly financial results (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) and monthly management accounts ensuring that deadlines are met;

Budget and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the Leadership Team. Monitor performance against Budget and provide variance analysis and recommendations for corrective action.

Financial Analysis: Provide financial advice and support to Leadership Team to effectively and efficiently manage business operations and performance. Work closely with the Leadership Team to support and develop financial models to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements;

Audit Support: Co-ordinate and support the external audit process, including the preparation of audit files and responding to auditor inquiries. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any findings or recommendations;

Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures, ensuring all compliance is met.

Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including the submission of BAS and yearly tax returns.

Funding Management: Leading the Funding team and ensure that all government funding and grants are submitted and optimised. Ensure that all compliance is met;

Cash Management: Manage cash flow to support the ongoing and strategic funding requirements of the business. Monitor banking activities and co-ordinate with the banks as necessary. Deliver weekly cash flow reporting to the Leadership Team;

Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the Finance team including mentoring, coaching and performance management. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the role:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

CA or CPA qualified

Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
