Description:
Supervisor - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Company vehicle provided Onsite – Preston VICOur client is a family-owned business with long term growth plans providing strong focus on both diversity and sustainability, within the essential services industry. As the Leading Hand Mechanic you will report directly to the Victorian Workshop Manager.
About You:
- Relevant Trade Qualification in heavy vehicles
- Previous experience in a similar role highly regarded
- Self-motivated, strong initiative and an ability to work autonomously
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrical
- Current rigid truck drivers’ licence
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventative, scheduled maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles
- Ensure fleet is maintained and compliant with company standards
- Work safely and effectively following safety guidelines and procedures
- Maintain service records and documentation to a high standard
- Manage emergency breakdowns as they arise
- Order parts and maintain inventory
If successful, you will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical along with drug and alcohol testing. Evidence of driving record/history may also be required.
