How will I help?

The Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) Digital Program is responsible for enabling the WIB Digital Strategy by delivering new digital capability to our relationship managed customers and internal facing teams. A large part of this capability will be realised through delivery of the Westpac One platform. This is a new digital platform experience for relationship managed customers providing personalised access to real-time liquidity and payment solutions; lending, deposit and risk management tools; digitised onboarding and data-driven insights.

You will join as a Senior Experience Designer with seasoned experience in customer experience design and delivery. The role will support the WIB Digital Head of Customer Experience to execute on priorities for the team that involve designing customer and staff experiences for the Westpac One platform.

You will:

  • Inspire and mentor junior team members, sharing subject matter knowledge, skills and experience to help support others
  • Support value streams and cross-functional squads to identify opportunities to solve problems aligned to customer needs and conceptualise solutions to inform the roadmap
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions to help define the problem-space, support cross-functional collaboration, and drive meaningful ideation to solve customer problems
  • Use storytelling to communicate design rationale, collaborate with cross-functional teams and define detailed solutions
  • Work with Researchers and Data Analytics to lead research briefs and methodologies to help gain actionable insights
  • Help to improve design workflows and inform process of how we work to produce design documentation with measurable outcomes
  • Drive engagement with the design systems team to enable other designers to effectively leverage the component libraries and improve workflows for continuous improvement

What do I need?

As the successful candidate you will have extensive experience in the digital product design field and ideally have banking domain knowledge. This could be across Customer Relationship Management, Transactional Banking, Digital Customer Platforms, Banking Products and/or Financial Markets. You will be experience in working on strategic initiatives and work collaboratively in cross functional teams. Other advantageous skills are:

  • Strong problem-solving ability and stakeholder engagement
  • Tertiary qualification in a suitable subject
