About the role

This is a permanent full time (35 hours / week) opportunity and will based in Oatlands North Parramatta with some flexible WFH arrangements

  • This role is responsible for leading a team of Caseworkers and support staff to make a real difference in the delivery of quality, culturally appropriate, strengths based, trauma informed, collaborative casework services In this role you will ensure that the PSP Caseworker team/s are delivering a contemporary, permanency and restoration focused PSP Practice Framework that implements a range of evidence based, trauma informed, culturally competent and responsive services to ensure that all children and young people are able to achieve permanency and are supported to meet their full potential

About Uniting’s Permanency Support Program

  • The Permanency Support Program (PSP) aims to give every child/young person a loving home, whether that be with parents, family, extended family or through guardianship, adoption or quality long term care
  • We provide culturally supported placement options for children and young people 0-18 years of age
  • PSP also provides a ‘light touch’ Aftercare service for young people 18-25 years who have left foster care and for the next 4 years will collaborate with Uniting’s Extended Care Pilot program team to provide holistic support to young people using the Advantage Thinking approach.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, or other equivalent and relevant field.
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Skilled decision maker for children’s best interests underpinned by a demonstrated commitment to hearing the voices of children and young people
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge and understanding of sector trends
  • Committed to compliance - legal, government and policy
  • Continuous improvement champion
