As a key contributor in the organisation, you'll be at the forefront of critical financial functions, including planning, budgeting/forecasting, analysis, financial reporting, financial risk management and controlling all financial-related activities ensuring finance processes are not only effective but efficient.

Reporting to the General Manager, the you will partner will collaboratively engage with leadership teams, line managers, and staff to drive financial excellence. The role will provide key financial support to the Biocelect Leadership and Board through insightful analysis and technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, direct and oversee all aspects of the finance operations.
  • Ensure all financial and management reporting (including budgets, financial trends and forecasts) is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversee the monthly payroll.
  • Implement policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the business.
  • Manage and routinely reporting analytics on business performance.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Provide management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Oversight of the month end process including ensuring the completion of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P&L statements.
  • Weekly cashflow forecasting.
  • Report financial reports and advice regarding overruns and missed agreed targets.
  • Overseeing the preparation and lodgement of statutory reporting and income tax obligations for.
  • Regularly scan for grant opportunities to support the business.
  • Assess business development opportunities for financial viability.

What we are looking for:

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • 5-8 years’ experience in a similar position within a lean, fast-paced small business environment.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners including Board Directors.
  • Excellent investigative, business judgement, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Extensive budgeting and forecast modelling skills.
  • Exceptional ability to identify and implement new processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and taxation practices.
  • Understanding of company shares and dividends.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, search for answers and solve mysteries!
  • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Xero
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is highly regarded.
