ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summary of the role:

Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work at Mercy Care Centre, Young NSW, to ensure delivery of highly responsive and person-centred care. AHAs work between inpatient and community roles in the Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, sub-acute ward, Day Centre and Transitional Aged Care Program.

  • AHA permanent fulltime position available at Mercy Care Centre, Young NSW (rural public hospital).
  • Work across multiple therapeutic healthcare areas.
  • Implement therapy plans and care to diverse patient caseload as specified by an allied health professional.
  • Deliver and monitor individual and group exercise, education and therapy sessions requested by allied health professionals.
  • Provide administrative support including booking appointments, recording data using multiple computer programs, ordering resources and electronic medical records.
  • Support the fitting of assistive devices, equipment set up and cleaning, personal care, domestics, assist with client care and rehabilitation of patients.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Completed or willing to study towards a Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance.
  • You will be organised, caring, and have a positive attitude.
  • Experience within the health or exercise industry preferred.
  • Able to carry out clinician instructions and communicate effectively with the team and patients

Mercy Care Centre Young is a 26-bed subacute health service facility providing a range of outpatient, community health and aged care services for the people of Young and surrounding region. It specialises in geriatric evaluation and management; rehabilitation and palliative care.
