  • Up to 5 year, fixed-term, full time executive contract, with the possibility of extension. Current UNE Staff: In taking up this appointment, please be aware your current fixed term or permanent role will cease the day prior to you taking this position

About the role

The Associate Director Shared Services is a critical leadership role within the People and Culture Directorate that supports the Director in the management and coordination of Talent Acquisition and HR Services function. The Associate Director Shared Services has the responsibility for strengthening the UNE's shared services capability, through the design and development of policies, procedures and governance frameworks. The role will require a more strategic approach to driving increased performance and efficiency to enable a stronger client centric service culture.

The position reports to the Director, People and Culture and is responsible for the Talent Acquisition Team and HR Services Team.

In the absence of the Director, People & Culture, the Associate Shared Services will undertake 2IC duties from time to time and as delegated and in conjunction with the Associate Director Workforce Capability Inclusion and Business Partnering.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Successfully lead and managed diverse HR teams to deliver client focussed, efficient HR services to meet organisational objectives in complex environments.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, influencing and analytical skills that drive a continuous improvement culture.
  • You will have a relevant degree and/or an extensive background in Human Resource Management and be up to date with current trends and legislation in relation to Human Resources in the higher education sector.

The People & Culture (P&C) Team provides a range of services across the University such as Talent Acquisition; Workplace Relations; Health, Wellbeing and Safety; Payroll, Benefits, and Support; Organisational Development; and Strategic Workforce Planning and Change Management and strategic advice.
