Salary: Band 5 starting from 74,396 + 11% superannuation

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised professional to join the Early Years team as a Planning & Partnerships Program Officer.

Hobsons Bay City Council supports the delivery of early years services across the municipality through the provision of kindergarten centres, capacity building for early years educators & their committees and the promotion and registration of kindergarten places through the Central Registration Scheme. The Planning & Partnerships Program Officer plays a key role in these initiatives, helping every child get the best start to life.
This is a unique opportunity to join an Early Years team during significant early years reforms – the Victorian Governments Best Start Best Life reforms have seen a significant increase in demand and access to kindergarten services across Hobsons Bay.

What you’ll be working on

  • Supporting, mentoring and resourcing Early Years Services to provide funded kindergarten and early years programs across municipality.
  • Coordination of capacity building opportunities for families and services through the provision of Consultative Committee Meetings, Parent Forums and Early Years Training.
  • Coordination of Children’s Week activities – a week of free activities delivered in partnership with local businesses and community organisations.
  • Promotion of Early Years Services.
  • Working with the Team Leader on Kindergarten expansion and capacity initiatives.

What you need to succeed

  • Understanding of the importance of the early years in child development.
  • Strong organisational skills & ability to prioritise competing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse range of audiences through strong written, digital and verbal skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC).
