About Townsville Community Learning Centre - A State Special School
As Principal of The Townsville Community Learning Centre (TCLC) - A State Special School I welcome you and your family to our vibrant special school.
TCLC is a state special school catering for students from Prep to Year 12 who have a verified Intellectual Disability. At TCLC we pride ourselves on providing rich, engaging learning experiences for all of our students. Students from Prep to year 10 access the Australian Curriculum in all key learning areas. The school has a comprehensive Whole-School Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework (WSCARF). All students in P-10 have Individual Curriculum Plans aligned to the WSCARF. Students in years 11 and 12 have access to the Guidelines for Individual Learning (GIL), ASDAN courses and Certificate courses. All students graduate with a Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).
Student and staff wellbeing is a priority at TCLC. The school focuses on ensuring all students have a voice through our Communication Team. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices are utilised across the school campus and are individualised to student needs.

* Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
* an understanding of Individual Curriculum Plans.
* an ability to work with teachers in a Prep to Year 12 environment.
* an understanding of curriculum differention for complex learners.
* knowledge of AAC for students with disability.
* the ability to work as a member of a large leadership team.
* the ability to lead teacher and teacher aide meetings when required.
