An exciting opportunity exists in the Department of Health and Aged Care Communication Branch for an APS5 communications and administration officer.We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our high performing Health Communications team. The position offers a rewarding opportunity to use your coordination and organisational skills to ensure key projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard. You will have good writing skills and be able to grow your capability by working with a team of experienced writers to produce a variety of content on a wide range of subjects, targeting diverse audiences through various channels.
The key duties of the position include
- writing, reviewing and editing communications products for external audiences including web content, publications, speeches, media releases, video scripts and editorial content
- managing a busy group mailbox and responding to enquiries in a timely manner
- triaging requests, including urgent requests from ministerial offices and across the department
- managing team workflows and working with program areas to ensure high-quality communication products are delivered in a timely manner, often to tight deadlines
- tracking and reporting on team workflows and performance
- supporting ministerial offices and staff across the portfolio with media monitoring, analysis and reporting
- uploading and managing content on ministerial and departmental web pages
