Team Overview
The Regional Operations team is the service delivery arm of Regulatory Operations Group (ROG). Our legislation requires the entities we regulate to understand, accept and address their obligations as detailed in the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act), the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011.
The team administers the WHS Act through a variety of prevention, assurance and enforcement activities. These activities include:
- workplace inspections
- education and awareness raising
- audits
- investigations.

Role Overview
The Administration Officer supports the management of regional operations in compliance, enforcement, inspection, audit, advisory, education, stakeholder engagement and issue resolution under the WHS Act. The role builds and maintains internal and external relationships, responds to enquiries and delivers administrative support services for regionally-based teams.
In particular, the position provides support for the Regional Operations Director and Assistant Director(s) with allocated responsibility for a specific national campaign, portfolio, and subject matter network or programme delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with stakeholders, providing appropriate advice and managing the resolution of issues or complaints.
- Contribute to planning and decision making within the work area.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the work area's impact on strategic and operational outcomes for the agency.
- Maintain and reconcile financial records including monitoring regional budget expenditure.
- Collaborate with other Regional Operations Administration Officers, business areas and work teams and closely support the regional team to achieve outcomes and facilitate the efficient operation of the team.
- Plan and complete competing tasks or requests to achieve personal or team priorities.
- Represent the work area effectively at internal and external meetings and conferences.
- Provide administrative support for the regional office including but not limited to telephone calls, emails, diary management and undertake assigned, research and preparation of relevant papers and correspondence.
- Provide general administrative and secretariat support for meetings, training courses, stakeholder forums, campaigns and portfolios.
- Produce and assist with the production of high quality reports, correspondence, documentation, training and promotional material.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for the Regional Operations team.
- Coordinate and manage the regional vehicle fleet, personal protective equipment issue and inspector on-call roster.
- Assist in the management of employer WHS incident notifications or license applications provided to Comcare as needed.
