Exciting Maintenance Fitter/Team Leader Opportunity with a Leading Food Manufacturing Company About Our Client:

With a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand, our client specialises in producing a diverse range of special dietary/gluten-free bakery snacks, crackers, and biscuits, supplying major supermarkets and export markets. About the Role:
Our esteemed client is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the critical position of Maintenance Fitter/Team Leader . The role involves providing high-quality engineering and maintenance services to the companys production facility, ensuring critical plant reliability to support consistent high-quality product delivery to customers. The position is in Luscombe, QLD, Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, prioritise, and schedule work for yourself and other fitters on both day and night shifts.
- Focus on plant operation to meet or exceed line efficiency, performance, and quality targets using lean manufacturing principles.
- Conduct root cause analysis on failures and ensure follow-up actions occur.
Collaborate with the operations manager and production team to improve productivity and make necessary improvements to production equipment and facilities. - Conduct PM plans and work orders within the maintenance system, ensuring correct equipment operation to minimize downtime.
- Organise associated trades, obtain quotes, and handle parts/material ordering as required.
- Provide monthly KPI reporting to management and maintain records for food safety and quality assurance programs.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
- Strong leadership experience with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement and continuous improvement.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter with 3-5 years experience in the baking industry or related food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety codes of practice and adherence to safety practices.
- Experience in breakdown, fault-finding, and line start-up in a food manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using mills, lathes, welding (TIG/MIG), forklift/EWP license considered an advantage.
