The Branch is looking for high-performing and team-focused people.Policy Officers need to display strong written and verbal communication skills.
They need to undertake work that is complex and demonstrate an ability to work independently and with limited direction.
The key duties of the position include
- prepare analysis, briefing and advice on family payments policy and legislation
- contribute to the development and implementation of new policy proposals
- build and maintain positive and professional relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- undertake general program management tasks including reporting, ministerial correspondence, and consideration and resolution of complex policy issues
- support procurement and other evaluation activities for Paid Parental Leave
- monitor and report on data and research (national and international) in relation to families.
