Description:

Technology Sourcing Branch and Procurement Branch are seeking experienced staff with procurement and/or contract management skills to join the team.

Assistant Directors lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high quality delivery of a range of procurement and contract management activities.

They have a critical role in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the consistent delivery of procurement and contract management services.

We currently have vacancies for Assistant Directors with:
  • Experience advising on major procurement projects requiring the sourcing of large, complex and/or strategic requirements.
  • Complex contract management experience, including with Whole of Australian Government vendors.
  • Experience in the procurement and contract management of labour hire contractors.
  • Experience procuring and managing hardware and software contracts.
  • Experience in developing and effectively communicating procurement and contract management policy and guidance.
  • Experience in these areas, or the ability to quickly gain knowledge and skills will be highly regarded.

The key duties of the position include
  • Leading a team to deliver procurement and/or contract management services including specialist advice to the agency and Shared Services consumers.
  • Leading a team to procure and managing large technology and digital contracts, including telecommunications, hardware and software and procurements through Whole of Australian Government contracting arrangements.
  • Undertaking complex contract negotiations, dispute resolution, managing legal and probity matters.
  • Applying strong written communication skills to plan, prepare and develop documentation consistent with Commonwealth and agency writing and style guides.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including managing external vendors.
  • Managing staff performance, attendance, and health and wellbeing, and developing staff capability through coaching, mentoring, training and upskilling.
