The key duties of the position include
The Role
The Deputy Director of Assurance, under the direction of the Director of Engineering, JSD, will lead a small audit and assurance team and be responsible for coordinating and performing engineering assurance, governance, auditing and corporate reporting activities across the Division.

The Deputy Director of Assurance will have an understanding of the Technical Regulatory Frameworks (TRF's) and standards of practice; and have an in-depth knowledge of the internal audit process. You will, on behalf of the Director of Engineering, lead the strategic review of Engineering Management Systems (EMS) in the Joint Systems Domain (JSD) in the areas of strategic and business planning, performance measurement and continuous improvement.

You will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability to achieve outcomes. You will have demonstrable experience in planning and conducting audits, building and sustaining effective relationships with team members, management and stakeholders, tailoring communication style and language according to the audience.

You will have a considerable level of experience with stakeholder engagement and be able to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations in order to achieve the expected outcomes of the EMS Compliance Team.

  • Knowledge and experience in Governance and Assurance activities, especially the internal auditing process.
