The Role
Our client in Ingleburn is seeking an experienced Electrical Reliability Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical controls and automation systems. With a significant portion of our automation nearing obsolescence, this is a unique opportunity to lead the charge in modernizing our processes and driving innovation in pet food production. workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize your technical expertise as a mechatronic engineer to address obsolete controls and automation systems, particularly PLCs, VSDs, servo systems, PFDs, and HMIs.
- Lead the development and execution of the controls and automation strategy for the site, including troubleshooting PLC issues and overseeing integration projects.
- Act as the subject matter expert on automation systems, including Rockwell, Omron, and other relevant platforms.
- Drive end-of-life projects, programming, and integration efforts, with a focus on major projects such as upgrades to the pouch line, tray line, and can line.
- Collaborate with the project engineer to support major initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
- Implement energy reduction initiatives to optimize efficiency while maintaining output levels.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, including AS3000 and AS 2404, as well as machine guarding standards.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field. Advanced electrical diploma is a plus.
- Strong technical proficiency in Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Panel View, Omron, and other relevant automation platforms.
- Experience in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and robotic programming (e.g., C++).
- Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations, including AS3000 and AS4024.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate trades and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
