About the Role
You’ll have heard about the Pilbara, the powerhouse of the Australian economy, its energy and its raw beauty. You’ll have seen footage of the huge ore trains, ports and ships, of the salt ponds, salt pans, its remote deserts and cattle stations, the whale sharks, turtles, and azure blue waters.
You may know we have not one, but TWO world heritage sites in our region it really is all here.
The bureau is in Karratha, a city like no other in WA : modern, open, bright, bustling and safe. We are near the Dampier Archipelago and its world class fishing, boating and diving, and an easy drive to beautiful National Parks with ancient rock art, natural camping spots and waterholes in the sweeping vastness of our country.
Working as part of the Pilbara team, you will be responsible for creating news content for multiple platforms, engaging the diverse local and national audiences.
You'll produce and present news bulletins, Q&A's interviews and packages, including breaking stories.
About You
You're an experienced journalist with a strong focus on digital and multi-platform storytelling and in particular the issues that affect the interest of the diverse local audience.
You will have initiative, drive and be a strong team player.
