Role Overview / Description

Reporting to the CEO, this CFO will be responsible for the Financial Operations, Governance and process improvement for a stable and growing Australian business. Strategically you will lead the organisation through the next phase of business managing day to day and short term cashflow while strategically managing a strong 3 year pipeline of locked in business. You will act as the trusted advisor to the Executive Team as you bed down Financial Reporting and provide Financial Management to your stakeholders. As the CFO you will lead a small finance function of 5 and oversee IT.

The successful CFO require exceptional business partnering and robust business acumen. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a high performing CFO from a medium sized business or divisional CFO role to take ownership of this finance function.


The Job/ Duties / Responsibilities

  • Finance leadership for the group - Australian head office with offshore subsidiary.
  • Lead budget and strategic planning processes.
  • Lead cash flow planning (weekly)
  • Lead pricing component on tender processes (notably project-based tenders)
  • Control and advice on working capital evolution (notably inventory levels)
  • Manage bank relations, bank facilities and covenant reporting
  • Lead Monthly management reporting
  • Prepare finance component for Management Board Pack
  • Supervise month-end management reports
  • Supervise inter-company recharges and inter-company transfers
  • Supervise monthly closing process and consolidation process
  • Supervise year-end process
  • Supervise tax and R&D claims
  • Supervise Finance Manager and FP&A Manager
  • Supervise Program Management cost tracking (Estimates at Completion within project accounting)
  • Supervise and approve payroll process
  • Supervise and validate standard costing rates (notably labour rates)
  • Supervise accounts receivable and payable, petty cash, travel and entertainment expenses.
  • Maintenance ERP tool
  • Manage IT department (including outsourced IT manager and external service providers)
  • Support the CEO with any M&A processes

Candidate Profile

You have significant experience as a CFO in a medium sized business or a Division of a larger organisation. Ideally CA/CPA qualified you have a proven track record of high performance and have a burning passion in elevating your team's capabilities as you hold a leadership style that will nurture and grow high performers. You have knowledge of revenue recognition within a project environment (IFRS15/AASB15) and have worked in a project environment (engineering, infrastructure) or manufacturing with international exposure. Either way, you will bring to the role a strong focus in adding value to the organisation, vision for a best-in-class finance team, and a passion in providing financial and strategic advice to high performing executive leadership team.
