About the role

Clarence Valley Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Business Analyst to join our Corporate Systems Team.

CVC is underway with a major corporate system update to move us onto the cloud.

We are after a Business Analyst who can lead and manage the review and analysis of the organisation's business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements.

This role involves the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders.

The Business Analyst will provide leadership in the development of new and innovative ways of driving system-wide improvement through data processes, contemporary analytics methods and systems for improvement.

Experience in local government and with the TechnologyOne Suite would be highly desirable.

To be considered for this position you will need to:

  • Address the essential criteria
  • Attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this position. You will need to demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities and how your skills will enable you to achieve the key accountabilities.
  • Target questions - answer the target questions - maximum 300 words each question
    1. Provide an overview of the technology systems and platforms you have delivered in the past, and the personal contribution you have provided to the delivery of those systems.
    2. Using an example, describe a time where you had to communicate a complex technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge and expectations. How did you approach this? What was the result?
    3. Using an example, describe a time when you identified a problem with a business work process or task. How did you identify who needed to be involved in solving the problem and what was the result?

This position is located at Council's Grafton Office, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
