Description:

The Senior Business Intelligence and Engagement Officer reports to the Section Manager - Business Intelligence and Engagement and is part of the team responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including vendors to deliver data, reporting and software solutions that align with CASA's digital and business strategic goals.

This role works autonomously and in collaboration with the wider Information Technology Branch (ITB) to deliver and support data and reporting services along with technical and software solutions to CASA and our external customers.

The Senior Business Intelligence and Engagement Officer is responsible for the following deliverables, which represent an ongoing body of work:

• Triage requests through the ITB 'front door' and engage with stakeholders and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to develop solutions.
• Validate business requirements for reporting and software requests/enhancements to ensure accuracy of information and that data and/or software solutions are fit for purpose.
• Work with data from multiple application sources to produce reports for CASA business areas.
• Provide best practice advice on how to leverage the business intelligence and data warehouse environment.
• Respond to service requests from business areas, documenting, developing and delivering content, including administrative tasks, BAU activities and new development requests.
• Work with the Section Manager and across the team to design, develop, deliver, document and maintain data and business solutions within agreed timeframes.
• Work closely with other areas of ITB to ensure a consistent approach is used across teams in delivery outcomes for business areas.
• Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management, and environmental management in the workplace in accordance with and act in accordance with the CASA values and behaviours.

The preferred location for this position is Canberra however, all CASA office locations will be considered.

• experience in business and data analysis and project management disciplines.
• an understanding in data architecture, management, modelling and analysis.
• Experience in adapting to shifting priorities and managing change whilst producing high quality outcomes to meet business needs.
• Ability to communicate with influence, demonstrated technical writing skills and demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical people.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) skills with the ability to manage relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.)

The following ideal candidate requirements are desirable:

• Understanding in a similar or related role including ETL / data engineering, data modelling, development.
• Relevant tertiary or formal qualifications in data management and/or project management would be highly regarded.
