Job Description

YOUR ROLE



The Education Officer, Student Wellbeing supports the development and delivery of strategic MACS resources that enable Catholic school communities to ensure the safety of students and adheres to processes and procedures which are in accordance with MACS position as the governing body of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools. This role will initially be based at the Northern Region Office with attendance at other offices required. Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Strategic Plan MACS:2030 , Vision for Instruction and the Education Officer, Student Wellbeing contributes to promoting a culture of innovative system and school practice designed to enhance the holistic wellbeing of students and their capacity to effectively engage with learning.





WHAT YOU WILL DO




  • Support the implementation and review of priorities, polices and initiatives that promote and strengthen student wellbeing and learning outcomes through MACS:2030 Strategic Plan
  • Act as a member of the Student Wellbeing Information and Support Service team, including acting as duty officer on the phone line and via email, and leading the development of related processes and resources
  • Engage with the school improvement process to develop data informed practices that enhance student wellbeing and school community engagement
  • Identify strategies to effectively support and respond to issues that impact the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
  • Design and facilitate professional learning for system, school leaders, and primary and secondary Student Wellbeing Networks to support ongoing skill and knowledge development
  • Develop key resources aligned to legislation and MACS policy that support the wellbeing, health and safety of children and young people
  • Remain abreast of research, statutory requirements, legislative compliance and Church teachings that impact student wellbeing and learning outcomes
  • Ensure co-operative arrangements with government departments, community organisations, and other relevant agencies are maintained to optimise support for children, young people and their families


ABOUT YOU




  • Demonstrated successful experience working in educational settings with a specific focus on student wellbeing, child/ adolescent health or related fields.
  • Understanding of the latest MACS policies and priorities, Government directions, statutory requirements, specifically MO 1359, and research evidence promoting student wellbeing and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team members to design effective, evidence informed strategies and professional learning to strengthen practice, drive improvement, and contribute to advancing agreed outcomes/goals.
  • Evidence of well-developed oral and written communication skills with an ability to use these to engage with stakeholders including school leaders, teachers, specialist services and community organisations to influence change and manage complex issues.
  • Sound knowledge of the key principles underpinning Critical Incident Management along with evidence of operational capacity.
  • Ability to work well autonomously as well as within a team environment


Salary range for this position is $114,757 (EO1) - $134,423 (EO5) per annum pro rata exclusive of superannuation as specified in the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 and may include additional allowances dependent on qualifications and experience.
