Description:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Manager of the Spectrum Planning and Engineering Branch will be responsible for leading ACMA's specialist spectrum management, planning, and engineering work program.You will lead a team of 33 technical experts in radiocommunications engineering, planning, regulation, compliance, and enforcement to deliver quality outcomes.
You will work closely with current and potential future spectrum users to develop and deliver our annual Five-Year Spectrum Outlook - a world-leading demand analysis and spectrum management plan.
You will develop policy and administrative proposals aimed at maintaining and improving the efficiency of existing spectrum management frameworks considering increasing demand and new applications, while looking to support technology and service innovation.
The key duties of the position include
You will develop, consult on and advocate (working with our Portfolio Department) for Australia's positions in international fora-including through the International Telecommunications Union-to ensure, as far as possible, the global spectrum management frameworks align with Australia's spectrum usage interests.
You will also plan and develop the ACMA's planning/engineering capability including through documented principles/guidance on spectrum planning.
As part of the ACMA's executive team, you will help to positively support the ACMA's culture and values and its commitment to integrity in the APS.
