This is for a Permanent, Fixed Term or Casual appointment at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Manager to join the After-Hours team at Carnarvon Health Campus – Midwest.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Demonstrated ability as a leader/coordinator in a diverse team environment
  • Advanced clinical practice in a variety of acute settings including the ability to perform under pressure
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement programs and risk management.
  • Computer literacy and an ability to utilise information systems
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills including the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex and sensitive problems
  • Ability and willingness to participate in an after-hours shift work roster, including weekends, public holidays, nights, afternoons and day shifts as required.

Position Profile:

Provides after hours administration and bed management for Carnarvon Hospital. Demonstrates leadership and role modelling. Promotes and ensures maintenance of clinical standards of quality of care.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
