This is a 3-month Recruitment Pool for suitably qualified Clinical Midwives covering:

Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time, Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

  • The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
  • Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
  • Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2024.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Demonstrate a proven successful record of professional clinical leadership experience and advanced clinical practice and knowledge in cancer services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage human and material resources within policy and budgetary expectations.
  • Demonstrated advanced interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), negotiation and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of clinical governance systems, and in the application of research and best practice principles.
  • Demonstrated digital capability across clinical systems and platforms that contribute to cancer control activities, data collection and reporting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of rural and remote issues related to nursing and service delivery.

Position Profile:

This position provides continuity of midwifery carer within a caseload midwifery led model throughout the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. The midwife works within a group practice and provides support and backup for the woman either at home or in the hospital. The emphasis is on the provision of safe, effective care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Within the midwifery group practice the woman and her family is central to the care and provided in a culturally appropriate manner.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).
