The CEO is employed by and accountable to the Board of TIQ and supports the Board in setting the strategic direction for TIQ.
The CEO also works closely with and provides advice to the Queensland Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment.

The CEO is responsible for implementing policy that may be determined by the board, taking into account the complex cultural and social environment of working in multiple countries, alignment with government policy and public sector standards, financial accountability and sustainability, regulatory compliance and the provision of a safe and fair work environment.
Your Contribution (key Responsibilities And Accountabilities)
To be successful in this role you will:
Leadership and Management
- Lead TIQ in the delivery of the Queensland Government's Trade and Investment priorities and strategic direction.
- Ensure Queensland is strategically positioned to benefit from free trade agreements and global megatrends that impact global supply chains.
- Lead collaboration and develop strong working relationships across government and industry to ensure strategic alignment and optimal outcomes from targeted opportunities.
- Lead, monitor and evaluate organisational performance, appropriate budget management, reporting regularly to the Board on results and business outcomes.
- Monitor risk management and compliance to ensure all obligations are met, and all the organisation's activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
- Programs and Project Management
- Ensure TIQ drives growth in all sectors and markets, with a particular focus on identified key sectors and sub sectors
- Provide quality policy advice on trade and investment matters and global business issues to Ministers and the Premier, and across the public and private sectors.
- Recommend contingency plans and triggers to ensure strategy implementation remains on track.
- Lead and direct strategy implementation ensuring the organisation has appropriate resources and sound governance to deliver on identified outcomes.
- Oversee the implementation of appropriate and efficient policies, systems and programs consistent with good governance and strategic directions.
- Stakeholder Relationships
- Lead the organisation in establishing and leveraging partnerships with industry and government, to increase trade and investment opportunities for Queensland business.
- Contribute to the development of Queensland's economy and job creation through trade and investment activities and initiatives.
- Collaborating with other public sector agencies, lead the implementation of the Queensland Government's plan for attracting investment to Queensland.
