Union College is an independent, co-educational residential college located on the St Lucia campus of The University of Queensland. Since its foundation in 1947, it has provided a secure and supportive environment where residents may pursue their academic endeavours, while enjoying a wide range of cultural, sporting, and social opportunities to achieve their personal goals.To continue their journey towards a future of excellence as a provider of on-campus residential accommodation, the Board is seeking a Head of College/CEO to develop and drive the strategic direction of the institution. Achievement of sustainable operational performance and growth will be assured with active risk management and stakeholder engagement and active support from the Board.
Reporting to the Board, you will deliver on the strategic plan, playing a pivotal role in shaping the culture and success of Union College through strong leadership, community engagement, and advancement of the college's mission of promoting education, diversity and resident wellbeing. A seasoned leader, you will deliver exceptional governance and financial sustainability in the management of assets and resources while fostering continuous improvement and innovation. Exceptional communication skills will see you manage diverse stakeholders, foremost, current and prospective residents of the College, the board, alumni, other colleges and the universities we work alongside. You will represent the College in industry forums, building on a recognised brand and develop strategies to enhance the profile of the college to achieve the strategic goals of the organisation.
We anticipate that the ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of executive leadership, ideally within the education, accommodation or not for profit sectors. A commitment to fostering a diverse and collaborative culture will be evidenced through visible leadership and open communication with stakeholders. Your ability to catalyse transformative change and nurture a culture of inclusion will be instrumental in driving success.
Your qualifications should reflect a strong blend of professional credentials and business acumen, with a particular emphasis on strategic planning, financial management, and operational excellence.
