ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Liverpool City Council is seeking an inspirational leader, critical thinker and Early Childhood practitioner to join our team as a Nominated Supervisor. This opportunity would suit candidates who are seeking to bring their leadership skills to the team. As a Nominated Supervisor you will manage the daily operations of an Early Childhood Service to deliver quality educational curriculums and practices for young children and their families, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, legislative requirements and industry standards for Early Childhood Services.
  • At present, Council owns and operates six Early Education and Care Centres and two Preschools. Our services exceed National Quality Standards and reflect the unique needs of the community. Councils Early Education and Care Centres and Preschool are vibrant, dynamic services which aim to provide children with environments and curriculums that maximise their learning potential.
  • Children’s Services aims to be recognised as champions of quality improvement, innovative leaders beyond the service, and raising the bar on quality education and care for children. Our services exemplify that children are active contributors to decision making, showing a deep respect for their thoughts, ideas and perspectives.

What does the right candidate need to possess?

  • A zest for leading teams to create curriculums, rituals, rhythms, and practices which allow children to learn through enquiry and investigation.
  • A love for quality resources, loose parts, and materials, allowing you to guide educators to create inspiring provocations and exceptional learning environments.
  • A passion for creating change both within the centre and within the local and global community.
  • A desire to maintain a learning community within the service where there is a culture of reflective practice and ongoing learning to drive quality and continuous improvement.
  • A lovely rapport with families to ensure that you are able to work in partnership to enhance outcomes for children.
  • A Bachelor of Education, Birth - 5 years, NESA Teacher accreditation and have child protection training approved and recognised by ACECQA. You will have a thorough knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and its application within early education and care. A first aid certificate is also essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of child development and contemporary theories/approaches to early childhood education and care and a thorough understanding of Early Childhood Regulations. You will have experience in how to lead the operations of a service to ensure alignment and compliance with industry standards and exemplary practice.
