Work Health & Safety Manager | Part Time Position

Your Role
You will report to the Safety & Quality General Manager and be responsible for providing expert knowledge and guidance in relation to continuous improvement in the Work Health & Safety practises for the company. Your main duties and responsibilities include;

• Ensuring compliance with all Regulatory and Legal requirements for Work Health Safety & Quality
• Ensuring that critical risks are adequately identified and controlled
• Contractor management in terms of;
  • Compliances, Training, inductions
  • Ensure SWMS and Emergency Plans are in place for all works and are appropriately reviewed by the project manager assigned to the job
• Conduct Due Diligence required for each project such as;
  • Coordinate a schedule of site safety inspections
  • Undertake as appropriate site visits, to ensure adherence to requirements
• Ensuring Quality Systems and Documents are controlled and handled accordingly
• System maintenance schedule including activities as scheduled
• Development and review of SOPs
• Conduct internal audits
• Manage Continuous Improvement activities
• Promote and facilitate continuous improvement in all functions
• Follow through CI’s/NCR’s reported including investigations, actions and close out
• Hold regular meetings as required
• Provide regular reporting to management
• Facilitate transition to ISO45001
• Facilitate transition to an efficient central intranet platform.
• All other activities or functions necessary to complete the requirements of the role as they arise

Other Details
The position is Permanent Part-time, approximately 16-20 hours per week and the remuneration guide is $80-90K + Super (Full Time Equivalent).
About You

• You will have a keen desire to help people and core values circling around family, team work and service
• You will have relevant Cert IV or higher in Work Health & Safety and at least 5 years’ of experience in a similar position
• You will have knowledge of the SA Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice
• Knowledge of hazard reporting and risk management with a commitment to continuous improvement
• Experience in contractor management with construction background preferred
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations to establish root cause contributing to accidents, incidents or non-compliant practice and make recommendation for corrective or preventative action
• Experience AS4801/ISO45001 and ISO9001 CMS including document control and system maintenance activities
• Strong skills with IT
• Ability to prepare and present training sessions
