WesTrac is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join the New Machines Team as a Leading Hand at Tomago. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and testing electrical systems on a range of new Cat machinery as well as providing guidance to a team of auto elecs. The new machines workshop operates 24/7 and completes base builds as well as builds to spec, offering a range of Dealer Provided Options (DPO'S) to a large customer base. Machines will include:
  • 301.5-395 excavators
  • 773-795 off-highway trucks
  • 775 - 789 water carts
  • 140-24 graders
  • CS2.7 - CS68 rollers
  • D5-D11 Dozers
  • 930 - 994 loaders
  • MD6200, MD6250, and MD6310 drills

The successful applicant will join a high-performing team that ensures customer satisfaction through maximising efficiency, safety, and quality of work. You will champion our SPARC values of safety, pride, accountability, respect, and customer.
What we're looking for
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following skills:
  • Cert III Automotive Electrical
  • Experience with new machine assembly including wiring cabs
  • Excellent diagnostic ability
  • Ability to use SIS
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar surface mining equipment (desirable)
  • Solutions focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Close attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to meet Caterpillar quality standards
  • Team player with the ability to lead by example and build a capable and cooperative team
