Job description:
Discover your next step as the Environmental Advisor at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation (RNO).
The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for contributing to the management of environmental obligations and objectives. This includes striving to meet environmental targets and maintaining regulatory compliance, all in alignment with the sustainability goals of First Quantum Minerals Australia Nickel (FQMAN).
Key Accountabilities
To undertake a range of duties in support of environmental strategies, advocating for optimum environmental outcomes. Including, but not limited to:

• Adherence to business HSE performance standards, policy, procedures and systems;
  
• Application of strong written communication, analytical and electronic record keeping skills to record accurate, high-quality environmental data/evidence compliant with statutory reporting requirements, to:
  
• Complete sampling and monitoring requirements (internal and statutory);
  
• Collate, verify, interpret and report accurate environmental data;
  
• Facilitate workgroup information sharing and business continuity;
  
• Assist in the preparation of environmental documents, such as Approvals Applications, Environmental Management Plans, Annual Environmental Reports and EMS Procedures; and Prepare risk assessments, procedures, work instructions and pre-starts for activities conducted by environmental staff and contractors.
  
• Conduct site environmental inspections and assist with site environmental incident investigations;
  
• Develop and implement site based environmental awareness strategy, utilising various media, including presentations and documentation (newsletters);
  
• Onboard and manage environmental contractors and consultants;
  
• Assist operational personnel to fulfil their environmental obligations and functions; and
  
• Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor.
  

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering (required);
  
• Minimum 3 - 5 years mining industry experience, preferably in a similar role or in a field role associated with civil infrastructure or project (field) environment;
  
• Demonstrated experience in conducting environmental monitoring and sampling;
  
• Strong analytical and electronic record keeping skills with demonstrated ability to record accurate, high-quality data/evidence compliant with statutory reporting requirements;
  
• Competent in use of MS Office Suite, ArcGIS, and environmental database software;
  
• Experience in completing statutory reports, such as NGERS, NPI and AERS;
  
• Strong conceptual understanding with ability to interpret various legislation;
  
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships;
