About the role
UGL are currently seeking a suitably qualified HSE Advisor to support one of our clients and site-based team on an established offshore gas platform. This role will commence in May 2024, on a casual basis for a professional with extensive LNG/Brownfield exposure. You will work a 15/13 roster, FIFO from Perth, WA.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective HSE programs and practices to safeguard the well-being of our workforce, protect the environment, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to the project. 2. Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks. 3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HSE requirements into project plans and activities. 4. Provide HSE training and induction programs for project personnel, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices. 5. Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards. 6. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures. 7. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with HSE standards and expectations. 8. Foster a culture of safety consciousness and environmental responsibility among all project team members. Qualifications: 1. Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent, Environmental Management, or a related field. 2. Proven experience as a HSE Advisor in the construction industry, particularly on brownfields projects. 3. Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards. 4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to conduct effective training sessions and toolbox talks.
