About the Position

The position as a Paralegal / Human Resource Assistant requires an individual who is able to multitask and possess good decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration. Top candidates will be superb at problem-solving, efficient in scheduling and precise in the recruitment and legal process.

Paralegal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparing legal HR and real estate documents and contracts
  • Responsible for reviewing, tracking, and monitoring legislation that impacts the company’s products and/or processes and updating leadership with timely analysis and summaries of new legislation/regulations affecting the business.
  • Assists in implementing changes to contracts to comply with legislation/regulations.
  • Assisting with legal litigation/disputes in relation to a commercial contract, employment or product-related disputes.
  • Legal research, fact gathering and information retrieval.
  • Organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system.
  • Investigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action.
  • Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data.

Human Resource Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
  • Serve as a point of contact with benefit vendors and administrators.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
  • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice.

Eligibility & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related (required).
  • 2 years of experience as an HR Assistant (required).
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel and related business and communication tools.
  • Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies. (preferred)
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making & problem-solving skills with independent decision-making ability
  • Ability to connect with people throughout all levels of organization
  • Excellent record keeping skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $250.00 – $350.00 per day
