There is an exciting opportunity for you to join the Procurement & Supply Chain Optimisation Portfolio in the Department of Health! We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Principal Project Officer to join our team on a fixed term temporary full-time basis up until 31 December 2024. In this role you will play a key role in supporting the Procurement Transformation Program to apply best practice governance, effective project delivery, and drive improvements in Queensland Health procurement and supply chain operations.

The Principal Project Officer will c oordinate the development of relevant program and project documentation and apply appropriate program and project management techniques, methodologies and tools, to ensure quality outcomes are delivered across the project lifecycle.

About the Procurement & Supply Chain Optimisation Portfolio:

The Procurement & Supply Chain Optimisation (P&SCO) Portfolio builds on the foundational work undertaken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to drive operational enhancements and realise further Queensland Health system-wide benefits. The P&SCO Portfolio is a time-limited, temporary work program, currently consisting of three program workstreams, designed to improve procurement and supply chain operations across Queensland Health.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated background in successfully coordinating complex and large-scale projects, applying project methodologies and providing advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques and tools.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal competence, including resilience and the ability to positively influence and motivate others in a significant environment of reform and change.
  • Proven issue identification, analytical and research skills, problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive and practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Ability to work productively both independently and within a team to achieve project and program outcomes.
