About the role: We are currently seeking a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to join our team, supporting the Director of Trauma in a dynamic healthcare environment. This pivotal role involves managing the Director's diary and facilitating the smooth coordination of meetings and appointments, both locally and overseas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment process for unaccredited trainees and providing essential support to postgraduate fellows annually. Additionally, they will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient running of various Trauma Service initiatives, including rostering for journal club and multidisciplinary trauma forum meetings. Coordinating contingent workers, clinical observers, and BMed students will also be part of the responsibilities, alongside assisting in the preparation of the RACS Continuing Professional Development Recertification Program.
Strong communication skills are essential as the role involves composing correspondence on behalf of the Director. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with excellent multitasking abilities to thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment. This role will be supported by the Administration Manager as well as the Director of Trauma and Trauma secretaries. Training and Orientation will be provided.


Where you'll be working: John Hunter Hospital is the busiest Trauma Centre in New South Wales. It is the only Major Trauma Service (level 1 trauma centre) outside Metropolitan Sydney. John Hunter Hospital is the only combined adult and paediatric trauma centre in NSW.
The NSW Government has committed $835 million to redevelop the John Hunter and John Hunter Children's Hospital. The John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project will deliver an innovative and integrated precinct with industry-leading facilities. The project will work in collaboration with health, education, and research partners to meet the current and future needs of the greater Newcastle, Hunter New England, and Northern NSW regions.
