ABOUT THE ROLE
The Underground Mining department is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee underground maintenance and pumping projects. Working 8 days on, 6 days off on a day shift only basis, the team are provided with comfortable coach travel services from Perth and this is paid travel time.
We have a comfortable camp in the regional Wheatbelt town of Westonia which provides access to a community swimming pool, local shop and fitness and gym facilities. The team have an authentic and welcoming culture and take pride in contributing to the ongoing operation of the Edna May gold mine.
Reporting to the Processing Manager, this role will:
- Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the underground pumping and de-watering maintenance team and oversee other projects as required.
- Coordinate the daily management and supervision of the underground working areas in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 ("Act") and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 ("Regulations").
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of underground mining operations, particularly in relation to ventilation, pumping and dewatering.
- Oversee general servicing and repairs to U/G Dewatering Pump Systems.
- Communicate and report through to the Processing Manager the status of maintenance and underground conditions for the mine.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we would like to see;
- WA Underground Shift Supervisor's Certificate of Competency.
- Experience in the mining industry from working in a similar supervisory level position.
- Underground project experience in a mechanised hard-rock mining environment.
- Practical knowledge of dewatering, pumping and mechanical maintenance.
- Relevant tickets such as Forklift, Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, EWP & Crane/Dogging/Rigging will be well regarded.
- A West Australian C class driver's license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
