About the Role…
The maintenance tradesperson is responsible for attending to planned and unplanned building and electrical maintenance duties throughout the hospital. The role is also responsible for assisting in regular preventative maintenance duties as required through the facility.
About you…
- Carry out an intensive programme of planned preventive maintenance for all company buildings and utilities
- Carry out routine maintenance on all company machinery and equipment to include fault finding, problem solving and minor repairs to minimise down time
- Full, accurate and timely completion of all maintenance logs, schedules, etc. to comply with Health and Safety legislation and company, insurance and ISO requirements, etc
- Carry out preventative maintenance and safety checks on all equipment as scheduled documenting completed works
- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Complete all electrical work done to “A” Class workers standards
- Carry out all minor mechanical & electrical repairs in relation to buildings and utilities, planned and executed in such a way so as to minimise risk or inconvenience to others.
- Maintain and repair engine generators; perform work on associated control circuit equipment.
- Carry out maintenance requests as approved by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Performs routine inspection of plant and equipment as scheduled followed by completion and signing of the Record of Inspection;
- Prioritise work requests and complete in a timely manner
- Ensure cyclical maintenance is carried out as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Undertake maintenance and specific electrical work as required and within the level of expertise.
- Provide advice on future work and maintenance requirements.
- Prepare Risk Assessment Worksheets and Job Sheet Analyses as directed and required
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the maintenance workshop is compliant with OH&S Regulations at all times.
- Ensure machinery and equipment is maintained in good working order and used in a safe manner
- Requisition parts and supplies; maintain records and prepare reports
- Oversee and inspect work performed by outside vendors
- Participate in emergency on-call duty on a rotational basis
- Actively contributes in and promotes BH Performance Improvement program including the preparation for and maintenance of the EQuIP National program
