As a Marketing and Communications Assistant at SYC, you'll support our internal communications and marketing initiatives. You’ll be joining a Marketing and Communications team where your eagerness to learn and develop your skills will be embraced and nurtured.

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, this position will be based at our Kent Town Head office on a full-time permanent basis.

The day-to-day activities will include:

  • Providing effective day-to-day administrative support, such as monitoring organisational emails, scheduling meetings, and monitoring and processing marketing requests.
  • Assisting with the design of visually appealing marketing materials, such as brochures, infographics, and presentations.
  • Contributing to and/or creating engaging content for various channels, including the SYC website, social media channels, press releases and internal communications platforms.
  • Coordinating the maintenance of stock and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Assisting with maintaining the SYC website, ensuring content is up to date and optimised for search engines.

About You

We're looking for a team player excited by the prospect of expanding their knowledge in communication, marketing, and design. In this role, you will be able to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while representing SYC's brand and communicating our services to a broad audience. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • The ability to work effectively as a member of a team to deliver quality services and collaboratively achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organisational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise and achieve outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design software such as the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Previous experience in communications, marketing, or an administration role
  • Previous experience developing social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Knowledge of marketing platforms and marketing automation tools, e.g., Hootsuite and Mailchimp
  • The ability to be proactive and self-motivated, with the capability to take initiative and work independently.

For this role, you will need to be:

  • Willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Eligible to work in Australia.
  • Prepared to work from or be located at any SYC site.
